Since we moved back to KL, kami kembali ke routine lama kami. Both my husband and I bekerja 9–5 and commute using public transport or drive to work so yes, dua-dua sama penat. That’s why weekend for us means rest, balance, and connection. We try to split chores and help each other out. I’m so thankful that my husband tak pernah anggap kerja rumah hanya tanggungjawab isteri. Kami buat sama-sama, and that teamwork makes a big difference.
Saturday Morning: Family & Slow Start
Usually, my Saturday starts around 5am (yes, I wake up the same time like week days 😅). I will spent quality time with God just like every morning, dah jadi routine saya untuk baca firman Tuhan(Bible) dan berdoa setiap pagi. Walaupun memang sangat mengantuk tapi tetap saya buat dan ni dah jadi habit saya sekarang dan disebabkan habit ni juga, I feel much calm and ready to face the day. After read Bible and pray, saya akan masak breakfast(if we don't have plan to eat breakfast outside), do my affiliate thingy and if I got time, I will have a glance on my work hehee
Everything stop when my husband and son is wake up! I love the moment my son wake up, my mom's mode is switch on. I love whenever my son say good morning mom and smile! What a big blessing I had in life. Oh not to forget my husband too, I love it whenever he sleep in longer, I give him time to rest and enjoy his me time too. It's look so simple right but I love these moments, simple yet meaningful.
Kalau cuaca baik, kami akan keluar ke taman-taman yang ada di Putrajaya dan selepas dari taman, kami akan pergi beli groceries. I always say, weekend errands are better when done with love (and patience).
Afternoon: Me-Time (A Little Bit)
After lunch, bila anak nap or play quietly, I take that little window of time for myself. Kadang I’ll do skincare, read my favorite blog, of course writing on my blog and planned for next week blog posts and social media or kadang-kadang I just duduk minum kopi sambil scroll Pinterest, berangan dan mencari inspirasai untuk bekerja hehe
As a mom, I’ve learned that self-care doesn’t have to be fancy, kadang cukup duduk diam 10 minit pun dah recharge.
Evening: Businesswomen mode
While my husband and son taking a nap, I don't usually take a nap so my businesswomen mode is on! Saya jual aiskrim Malaysia sekarang.
Sunday: Faith, Family & Reset
Sunday is my favorite day. We usually go to church as a family, I always feel renewed after that. Being surrounded by our church community always gives me a sense of peace and belonging. It’s not just about worship, but about sharing life with people who encourage and support one another.
Bila balik, I’ll start preparing simple meal prep for next week, lipat baju, and clean the house sikit-sikit. But my rule on Sunday: No stress, no rush. I want to start Monday with a calm heart, not burnout.
We also rarely go to shopping malls nowadays. Honestly, we’re still rebuilding our finances after moving but I take it as a blessing. It teaches us to live simply and be more intentional with how we spend our time and money. At the same time, kami dapat ajar anak tentang nilai kewangan dan kesederhanaan.
A Reminder for All Working Moms
Weekend doesn’t have to be perfect, rumah tak perlu spotless, anak tak perlu aktiviti setiap minit. What matters is that you spend it with love and intention.
Because at the end of the day, our children won’t remember how clean the house was, but how present we were.
So to all working moms out there , it’s okay to rest, it’s okay to slow down. You deserve that gentle weekend, too. 🌷
