Hi friends ,
If you’re anything like me, the words “me time” sometimes feel like a joke. Between work, kids, home, and everything else when exactly are we supposed to squeeze that in?
But I’ve learned that me-time doesn’t have to mean spa days or long vacations (though those would be lovely!). Tiny pockets of time can still recharge our spirits and keep us from burning out.
Here are a few small ways I’ve been practicing me-time lately. Maybe they’ll work for you too.
Before everyone wakes up (or after they’ve gone to bed), I make my coffee and just sit by the window for 10 minutes. No phone, no multitasking, just sipping.
It’s a small ritual that feels grounding.
I currently love this Moccona Classic Coffee. It's taste so good and I never wanted to buy coffee from Coffee Shop anymore
I always have an easy read on my nightstand or a comforting podcast or my favorite songs in my playlist. Even 10-15 minutes before bed helps me escape the endless mental to-do lists.
It’s amazing how quickly your brain resets with a little story time. I specifically like Crime Story Podcasts, 2000s songs and Kpop Gen 2 songs. Whenever I listened to this kan, I feel so much alive hahaha
As for book, I usually prefer my self help books like Problem Solving by and What's My Child thinking? Currently, this 2 books always on repeat.
If you interested to read books in Malay, you can check Iman Publication Website, I really love their books.
Some days, I let the shower run a bit longer, use a fragrant body scrub or hair mask, and pretend I’m at a spa. It’s not a fancy retreat, but it’s a moment just for me.
But, let be honest with you, sometimes this is the hardest things to do especially when just you and your kid in the house. Baru sekejap masuk bilik mandi, sudah ada si kecil melalak di luar sambil ketuk pintu haha. I usually do this whenever my husband is around and my son will play with my husband so I can take time to take a longer shower and sambil bersihkan shower room hahahaaaa

A quick café stop after dropping the kids, painting my nails in the evening, or even buying a new lip balm. For working mom that need to go to office, you can treat yourself during lunch time or after work before heading home. A small treat at petrol stations is make me feel good hahahaa
Little treats, guilt-free because we deserve them.
I find a quiet spot, close my eyes, and breathe deeply. Sometimes it’s a short prayer, thanking God for getting me through another day.
Even a few minutes of this helps me feel more anchored and less frazzled. I usually do this in the early morning or late night, its depends on my son's sleeping schedule.
As working moms, we pour so much into everyone else. Don’t feel guilty about carving out tiny moments just for you. They don’t have to be long or perfect. Little drops fill the bucket, and a happier, more centered mom blesses the whole family.
If you have your own small me-time rituals, I’d absolutely love to hear them. Comment below or reply to this newsletter let’s inspire each other.
