On My Wishlist : Matching CASIO Watches With My Mum

There’s something I really wish I could do now.

I want to have a matching watch with my mum.

It might sound like a very simple thing to wish for, but for me, it means so much more than just buying a watch.

Both my mum and I, I love manual watches. My mum especially loves wearing a watch. I remember seeing her wearing one, and recently she told me that she wanted to buy a new watch.

But she couldn't. Not because she didn't want one. She told me that there was simply no one to bring her to buy it. And honestly, that made me feel really sad. I immediately thought, I should be there.

I wish I could just take my mum out, bring her shopping, let her choose the watch she likes, and then maybe… buy myself the same one.

A matching watch. Something small and simple that we could both wear.

I Want to Bring My Mum to Kajang

Next year, one of the things I really want to do is bring my mum to Kajang and take care of her.

My life isn't perfect. I still have so many things I'm trying to figure out. Work, family, finances, responsibilities… sometimes I feel like I'm barely keeping everything together myself. But despite having a not-so-perfect life, I still want to take care of my mum.

I want to spend more time with her.

I want to bring her places.

I want to take her shopping.

I want to eat with her.

I want to listen to her stories, even when I've probably heard them before.

I know, my mum will love this LTP - V007D-7B RM185

As for myself, I love this one MTP-B190L-7BV

I Don't Know Why, But I Feel Like My Time Is Getting Shorter

I don't know how else to explain this feeling. Every time I video call my mum, I notice that she's getting older. Her face changes. Her hair changes.

Sometimes even the way she talks or moves makes me realise that time is passing.

And honestly?

It scares me.

I still remember how I felt when I lost my dad in 2025. Losing him taught me something I wish I didn't have to learn: one day, the person you think will always be there simply won't be. I know that death is part of life. I know that everyone will eventually have to face it. But knowing that doesn't make it easier. And because I have already experienced losing my dad, I think I'm even more afraid of losing my mum. Sometimes I feel like I'm running out of time. Like there are still so many things I haven't done with her.

So many places I haven't taken her.

So many conversations we haven't had.

So many ordinary days that I wish I could somehow keep.

Maybe That's Why I Want This Watch

Maybe that's why this little watch means so much to me. It's not really about the watch.

It's about time.

The time I have with my mum. The time I wish I could have more of. The time I don't want to take for granted anymore. I want to look at my wrist one day and see the same watch my mum is wearing.

And whenever I look at it, I want to remember that I chose to spend my time with her while I still could.

Maybe one day, we'll sit together and I'll look at our matching watches and smile. Maybe nobody else will understand why that little watch makes me emotional.

But I will. Because I'll know that behind that watch is a daughter who simply wanted a little more time with her mum. And maybe that's what my wishlist is really becoming.

Not just a list of things I want to buy. But a list of things I want to experience while I still have the time to experience them.

For now, this little matching watch is staying on my wishlist. And hopefully, next year, I'll be able to bring my mum to Kajang, take her shopping, let her choose the watch she loves...

And finally say,

"Mum, let's get the same one." ❤️
