Every Sunday, there is one little thing I genuinely look forward to.
Taking my outfit photo.
I don't know when this became my little Sunday ritual, but I actually love it. I love choosing what to wear. I love putting an outfit together. I love doing my hair, putting on a little makeup, carrying a nice handbag and then finding a good spot to take my photo. And yes, sometimes I take a lot of photos just to get that one picture I really like.
But honestly?
I enjoy it.
I love dressing up.Not because I need anyone to tell me that I look good. Not because I'm trying to impress anyone.
I simply feel good when I dress up.
And I think that's reason enough. Sometimes, as women especially when we become wives, mothers and working women we get so busy taking care of everyone else that we forget about the little things that make us happy. We dress quickly because we're rushing to work. We wear whatever is comfortable because we have children to take care of.
We tell ourselves, "Later lah, when I lose weight, then I'll dress nicely."
I've definitely had that thought before. But I'm learning that I don't have to wait for a "better version" of myself to enjoy the present version of me.
I can dress up now.
I can take the photo now.
I can enjoy my outfit now.
I can feel beautiful now.
And maybe that's also part of what it means to do everything with love. Love doesn't only mean loving our family. It also means learning to appreciate ourselves.
Love the woman you are becoming.
Love the body that carries you through every busy day.
Love the little things that make you smile.
And if putting on a nice outfit on Sunday makes you happy?
Then girl, put on that outfit!
Take the photo.
Take ten photos.
Take fifty if you want.
Because one day, when we look back at these pictures, they won't just be outfit photos. They will remind us of who we were during that season of our lives.
The clothes we loved.
The bags we carried.
The hairstyles we tried.
The confidence we were building.
The little moments when we simply felt good about ourselves.
So yes, you will probably continue seeing my Sunday outfit photos here.
Because I love dressing up, I love taking photos, and I love how I feel when I do it.
And I think that's something worth celebrating too.
Do it all with love including the little things that make YOU happy. ❤️
