My Experience Being a Crew for ETConference 2026 as a Working Mom

For the past five days ( 1 June - 5 June 2026), I had the opportunity to be part of the crew for ETConference 2026 (ETCon26), and it was truly a memorable experience. When I was given the opportunity to join the crew for ETConference 2026 (ETCon26), I immediately felt excited. At the same time, I also had many thoughts running through my mind.

As a working mom, committing to a three-day conference is not always an easy decision. Unlike before I became a mother, every commitment now requires planning and coordination at home. I know many working moms can relate to this. Sometimes we hesitate to say "yes" to opportunities because we worry about our responsibilities at home, our children, and everything else that needs our attention.

Despite my concerns, I decided to take the opportunity, and looking back now, I am so grateful that I did.

For three days, I was involved as part of the team supporting the conference through website and web app management, as well as content updates. While many attendees experienced the event through the sessions, activities, and networking opportunities, I had the privilege of contributing behind the scenes to help ensure that information was accessible and up to date for everyone.

My responsibilities included supporting the conference website and web app, updating content, making adjustments to agendas when needed, publishing newsletters, and ensuring participants could access the latest information throughout the event. It may not have been the most visible role, but it was rewarding to know that the work my team and I did helped create a smoother experience for delegates, speakers, partners, and attendees.

One thing I learned during ETCon26 is that digital platforms play a huge role in modern events. A website and web app are no longer just supporting tools, they are often the first place participants go for information. Whether it was checking the agenda, reading event updates, accessing session details, or staying informed through newsletters, these platforms became an important part of the conference experience.

Being involved in this area also gave me a greater appreciation for the amount of coordination required behind the scenes. Sometimes changes needed to be made quickly, content had to be updated promptly, and information had to remain accurate. It reminded me that successful event execution depends not only on what happens on stage but also on the systems and people supporting the event in the background.

Another memorable part of the experience was meeting and observing professionals from various industries. I was especially inspired by the many confident and accomplished working women attending the conference. Seeing them actively participate, share ideas, and build connections reminded me that professional growth can happen at any stage of life.

I must admit that there were moments when I felt a little unsure of myself. Looking around at so many talented individuals can sometimes make us question whether we are doing enough. However, as the conference progressed, I reminded myself that every person contributes in different ways. Some speak on stage, some lead projects, and some work quietly behind the scenes to make everything happen.

Perhaps the biggest lesson I learned from this experience is the importance of having a strong support system at home.

I know many working moms hesitate to volunteer or take on event responsibilities because of the time commitment involved. I completely understand that concern. Before joining ETCon26, I also thought about how I would balance work, family, and home responsibilities.

Thankfully, I have a supportive husband who stepped in and took over many responsibilities at home while I focused on my role during the conference. Knowing that everything at home was being taken care of allowed me to fully commit to the event and make the most of the experience.

This reminded me that marriage and parenting are partnerships. There will be times when one person supports the other's growth, and vice versa. Behind many successful working moms is often a supportive spouse who understands the importance of personal and professional development.

Looking back, I am grateful that I said yes to this opportunity.

ETCon26 was more than just a conference. It was an opportunity to contribute my skills in website and web app management, learn from talented professionals, meet inspiring people, and gain valuable experience working behind the scenes of a large-scale event.

Most importantly, it reminded me that growth often happens when we step outside our comfort zone. As working moms, it can be easy to put ourselves last. But sometimes, saying yes to new experiences helps us become more confident, capable, and fulfilled not only in our careers but also in our personal lives.

ETCon26 was more than just a conference for me. It was a reminder that learning never stops, that teamwork makes incredible things happen, and that with the right support system, working moms can continue to grow both personally and professionally.

And for that, I am truly grateful.
